_Obsidian Build respects your privacy. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles whenever we handle personal information. This policy explains the information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices open to you.
We collect only the details required for business purposes. These may include your name, business address, email, telephone, project documents such as drawings, photographs, safety records, payment references, trade licences, resumés and limited website data like IP address and pages visited.
We receive information when you complete a form, send an email, call us, meet our team, visit our website. We use that information to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, deliver construction projects, manage warranties, meet safety and legal duties, pay suppliers and refine our services through feedback and analytics. We share information only when necessary with design consultants, trades, certifiers, payment providers, insurers, auditors, professional advisers and government agencies. We do not sell personal information, and unsolicited data is deleted unless we are legally obliged to keep it.
Electronic files are protected by encryption, multifactor log in and role based access, while physical files are stored in locked facilities. Project and site safety records are retained for seven years after the statutory warranty period ends, after which they are securely destroyed. Our website uses cookies and analytics to understand traffic and improve performance; you may disable cookies in your browser, though some functions might not work. If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the individuals affected within seventy two hours.
You may ask to see or correct the personal information we hold by writing to the email address below, and we will respond within thirty days. You can browse our website or make a general enquiry without giving your name, although we will need your true identity when you request a quote or enter a contract.
If you have a privacy concern, write to privacy@obsidianbuild.au with the details. We will investigate and reply in writing. If you remain dissatisfied you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. We review this policy at least once every two years and publish the most recent version at obsidianbuild.au/privacy.
